WHAT WE DO:
We are a small, state of the art gym studio in Portishead. Using the latest equipment and training techniques, our aim is to help everyone achieve their goals. Whether you're looking to improve mobility in your daily life or to enhance performance as an elite athlete, Functional Fitness is here to help. We offer personal training, group classes and 25 minute HIIT workouts.
MEET THE TRAINERS:
Jo Gallagher:
Jo has been helping and training clients for over twenty years although she always wanted to offer her customers a more complete service. So in 2018 she set up Functional Fitness.
As a health enthusiast, Jo is keen to pass on her passion for an active, healthy and balanced lifestyle. She hopes that F2, and the classes offered there, will motivate people to become fitter, healthier and stronger both in mind and body.
Jo leads suspension classes at Functional Fitness and has several PT clients. She has a passion for helping others and believes that every goal is important no matter how big or small. Jo strongly advocates that no matter your age, ability or fitness levels a mix of personal training and/or group classes can deliver positive results and give you the necessary support to actually have fun and enjoy the process!
In her spare time, Jo loves to run and is a high level distance athlete. She competes in cross country as well as 10k and half marathon races. Jo also plans to run a marathon... in the future!
Emily Webb:
Emily is a personal trainer and fitness instructor for
F2. She runs suspension classes and 25
minute workouts and has a number of personal training clients. She is very keen to increase her number of PT clients and help them to achieve their goals.
Emily has always been passionate about health and fitness and
cares deeply about ensuring her fitness sessions result in optimal gains. She strives to help her clients achieve personal
goals and, as a result, grow in confidence and improve levels of happiness.
Emily is very aware that life nowadays is
often hectic and that it can be difficult for people to find the time to fit in
a workout. Having experienced a very
busy schedule herself, Emily has designed programmes which are manageable,
enjoyable and proven to work. She is happy
to help clients with weight management, gaining lean muscle, improving fitness and
strength and nutrition advice. In her spare time Emily is very dedicated to her own fitness
regime and loves workouts and lifting weights.
Tracy Allan:
Tracy is F2’s latest recruit having joined us as a fitness
instructor during the first lockdown period.
She now runs some of our HIIT classes and outdoor boot camps (weather
permitting, of course) and has recently completed her training as a suspension coach.
Tracy has always loved sport, especially running and in 2019
took the decision to leave her full time job to retrain as a fitness
instructor. She used to compete as a
runner for Bristol and West AC and is a Leader in Running Fitness.
Tracy plans to start a ‘Couch to 5K’ running
group for F2 in the New Year. Tracy lives locally in Clevedon where she swims in the
marine lake several times per week. This
is something which she hopes to keep going through the winter this year!
